According to the KLA War Veterans Organization, protest participants faced violence from police officers. The organization has called for their actions to be investigated and for those who issued the orders to be held accountable.

The organization described the incident as “a serious stain on the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo,” while holding Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla responsible.

“Police uniforms will not protect them from accountability,” the organization said in its statement.

The KLA War Veterans Organization is also calling for full accountability for those who ordered and carried out the violence, as well as an investigation into every case of abuse of authority.

In conclusion, the organization called for the release of Ekrem Selimi and Fadil Zogaj, whom it claims are being held in pretrial detention.

“At the same time, we call for the swift release of Ekrem Selimi, a member of the leadership of the KLA War Veterans Organization, and Fadil Zogaj, who are being held in pretrial detention by the police authorities.”
