A serious incident has shocked the village of Zhym, in the Krutje Administrative Unit of Lushnje, where a 45-year-old man is suspected of striking his parents with an axe, causing his mother’s death and seriously injuring his father.

According to preliminary information, Florion Dalladaku, 45, struck his mother, Florije Dalladaku, 80, and his father, Hasani. The 80-year-old woman died as a result of her injuries.

Meanwhile, his father, Hasani, was rushed to Lushnje Hospital in critical condition. As his health deteriorated, he was later transferred to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana for specialized treatment.

After the incident, the suspect allegedly took his brother’s vehicle and fled the crime scene. He was later apprehended by a police patrol in Fier.

Police are continuing their investigation to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and are questioning the 45-year-old’s family members and relatives.

According to relatives’ accounts, Florion Dalladaku had been receiving treatment for mental health problems for years and, over the past six years, had been hospitalized twice at the Elbasan Psychiatric Hospital.

According to information provided by relatives, years ago he had attempted to shoot and kill a fellow villager with a shotgun. He was convicted by the justice system in connection with that incident.

Investigators are working to document the full course of the crime, while further details are expected to emerge about the motive and the circumstances that led to the serious attack within the family.
