Shocking crime in Lushnje/ Son kills mother, seriously injures father, Dalladaku family opens its doors for mourning

The Dalladaku family in Lushnje has opened its doors for mourning following Monday evening’s incident, in which 45-year-old son Florion Dalladaku attacked his parents with an axe, killing his mother, Florije, and seriously injuring his father.

After attacking them with a pickaxe, Florion took his brother’s car and fled, before later being arrested by police in Fier.

Family members and local residents knew the 45-year-old as someone with mental health problems who had been receiving treatment for years.

“He had problems and was receiving treatment. He should have been taken where he needed to go because his condition had worsened. But he had shown signs years earlier; I was in Greece. He caused a scandal and injured someone. But then he seemed to stabilize, and he even went to Italy with his brothers. But apparently this happened because he was not receiving regular treatment,” a local resident said.

“A peaceful, good, hard-working family. But they say this son had mental health problems. They took him to Elbasan last year. He had had problems with his family before as well. He was somewhat problematic, but I don’t know the details. But he did have mental health problems,” another local resident said.
