In Reykjavik, a new agreement was signed between NATO’s mission in Kosovo, KFOR, and Iceland, extending cooperation on the airspace over Kosovo.

The renewed document will remain in force until December 31, 2028, KFOR announced.
According to the announcement, the agreement guarantees the continuation of the partnership between KFOR and the Government of Iceland through the Icelandic Transport Authority (ICETRA).
The cooperation aims to create opportunities for opening new commercial air routes in the lower airspace over Kosovo.
KFOR emphasized that the agreement is based on its longstanding cooperation with Iceland and supports efforts to ensure that the use of the lower airspace over Kosovo is safe and efficient.
NATO’s mission in Kosovo continues to implement the mandate set out by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244, adopted in 1999, with the aim of contributing to the creation of a safe and peaceful environment for all residents of Kosovo, as well as ensuring freedom of movement.
