Conservative commentator Katie Zacharia has been proposed for the position of White House press secretary, a US administration official told the BBC.

If she decides to accept the offer, Zacharia will become the sixth person to serve as President Donald Trump’s chief spokesperson during his two administrations.
She currently serves as a communications adviser at Trump Media & Technology Group, the company that operates the Truth Social platform. In the past, Zacharia briefly worked as a spokesperson for the US Department of Homeland Security.
The offer to take on the role comes after Karoline Leavitt’s departure in August. US media have reported that Leavitt has been invited to become a contributor for Fox News.
