The condition of former U.S. President Joe Biden has worsened after his aggressive prostate cancer spread to other parts of the body, including the bones.

The details were confirmed by his son, Hunter Biden, in an interview broadcast by the BBC on Friday. He said the disease had progressed and that the 83-year-old was experiencing severe pain.
“It has spread to the bones and beyond. It’s very painful and, in many ways, debilitating,” Hunter Biden said.
Joe Biden was diagnosed in May 2025 with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Over the past year, he also underwent a procedure to remove several cancerous skin lesions, as well as radiation treatment.
Despite his health problems, the former president has continued his public activities. A short time ago, he delivered the keynote speech at a Democratic Party fundraising event in Maryland.
According to Hunter Biden, his father continues to battle the disease and will continue to do so for as long as he is alive.
Jill Biden, the former president’s wife and former first lady of the United States, has also recently provided details about his health.
She said Joe Biden’s treatment is continuing, while the disease has now become part of his daily life.
Prostate cancer mainly occurs in older men and, in many cases, progresses slowly. When it reaches advanced stages, it can spread to the bones and, according to medical experts, is then considered incurable.
Serious health problems are not unfamiliar to Biden. In 1988, he underwent surgery for a brain aneurysm, a condition that at the time also threatened his political career.
The Biden family has experienced another cancer-related loss. Beau Biden, Joe Biden’s son, died in 2015 at the age of 46 after suffering from glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
