Iran claims strikes on US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan; Hormuz declared “red line”

The clash between Iran and the United States has entered a new phase of tension, as Iranian armed forces declared they have attacked US military bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan.

Authorities in Tehran said the military actions came in response to recent US operations against Iranian targets.

According to Iranian state television, Iranian drones struck the Ali al-Salem air base in Kuwait. The targets, according to the report, were radar systems, a Patriot air defense system, and fuel storage facilities. It is also reported that US military facilities at the Sheikh Issa air base in Bahrain were attacked.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also announced a ballistic missile attack on a US air base in Jordan. According to it, the strike was a response to an American operation near a children’s hospital in Iran.

“American forces used their bases in Jordan to strike areas in Iran, including the area around a hospital for cancer patients. In response, two waves of missiles were launched against the American bases in Jordan,” the Revolutionary Guard declared.

In a separate warning, Iran’s top military commander stressed that Tehran will not accept any American interference in the Strait of Hormuz, which he considered a “red line.” He warned that Iran will strike infrastructure across the region if US President Donald Trump carries out threats to attack Iranian infrastructure.

The latest attacks and statements are considered a new escalation of the crisis in the Middle East, adding to concerns about the possibility of a wider regional conflict.
