Iran retaliates after US attack leaves 4 casualties, targeting US bases in Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq with missiles and drones

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated once again after the Iranian military and the Revolutionary Guard declared that they had launched ballistic missile and drone attacks against US military installations in Bahrain, Iraq and Jordan.

The response came after the United States had earlier launched another wave of attacks against Iran. Meanwhile, air defense systems were activated in Bahrain and Kuwait.

Iran’s state-run Tasnim news agency reported that Iranian forces had struck the Sheikh Issa US Air Base in Bahrain.

According to the agency, “the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran targeted, for several hours, radar installations and gathering points for US ground forces at Sheikh Issa Air Base in Bahrain.”

Following the attack, warning sirens were activated in Bahrain. Authorities urged residents to remain calm and take shelter in safe places.

The Revolutionary Guard also announced that, in the early hours of the morning, it had carried out a coordinated operation against US bases in Erbil, Iraq.

The declared targets in the attack were “maintenance centers,” “technical equipment depots” and a “surveillance balloon,” according to the Revolutionary Guard.

The same force also announced an “intensive ballistic missile attack” against a US base in Jordan.

Tasnim reported that the target was a Marine Corps base known as Camp Titin, located in the Gulf of Aqaba, near Jordan’s border with Israel and Saudi Arabia.

The Jordanian military said it had intercepted and destroyed ten ballistic missiles, while three others had fallen in uninhabited areas. According to the statement, no one was injured.

Kuwait’s armed forces also announced that air defense systems were dealing with “threats from enemy missiles and drones.”
