A 48-year-old man declared internationally wanted and sentenced to 11 years in prison in Italy has been arrested in Lushnje. The person is Bledar Buxheli, also known as Bledar Çelo, 48 years old, who after his arrest is expected to be extradited to Italy.

Police clarify that the 48-year-old was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after the Venice Court of Appeal, Italy, in 2024, sentenced him to 11 years in prison for the criminal offense of “Drug trafficking”, as defined by the Italian Penal Code.
From this sentence, he has 8 years, 6 months and 24 days left to serve in prison.

Another phase of the coded police operation “Fast” for the capture of internationally wanted persons has been completed.
The operation was carried out by the Search Sector (FAST Albania) within the Directorate of the Special Operational Force at the Department of Criminal Police, in cooperation with the Fier Local Police Directorate (DVP Fier).
A 48-year-old from Lushnja, sentenced in Italy to 11 years in prison for drug trafficking, has been located, captured, and arrested for extradition.
Following successive operations to capture internationally wanted persons, operational services of the Search Sector (FAST Albania) within the Directorate of the Special Operational Force, in cooperation with the Fier Local Police Directorate, finalized another phase of the coded police operation “Fast”.
As a result of well-coordinated operational actions, in Lushnje it was possible to locate, identify, capture, and provisionally arrest, with the purpose of extradition to Italy, the citizen Bledar Buxheli alias Bledar Çelo, 48 years old, resident in Lushnje.
This citizen had been declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after the Venice Court of Appeal, Italy, in 2024, sentenced him to 11 years in prison for the criminal offense of “Drug trafficking”, as provided by the Italian Penal Code.
From this sentence, he has 8 years, 6 months and 24 days left to serve in prison.
Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, continues procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy.
