Over the past 24 hours, police at various locations detained 12 drivers suspected of the criminal offense of “reckless driving,” as stipulated in Article 297-a of the Criminal Code, the North Macedonia Interior Ministry announced.

Eleven of them were caught driving without a license. They were S.I. (24), F.B. (24), B.M. (21), D.S. (20) and S.R. (36) from Skopje, S.F. (30) from Zelenikovo, D.U. (34) from a village in the municipality of Chashka, O.F. (41) from the Krushevo region, as well as F.V. (24) and D.M. (31) from Kumanovo and the Kumanovo region.
Meanwhile, S.A. (34), from the Kichevo region, was driving without a license and at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour on a section where the speed limit is 40 kilometers per hour.
Police also announced that A.S. (37), from a village in the municipality of Ilinden, was detained after driving under the influence of alcohol. Once the cases have been fully documented, the appropriate criminal charges will be filed against them.
The Interior Ministry appealed to all road users to comply with traffic rules and regulations. The institution stressed that vehicles must not be driven without having passed the driving test, while a driving ban is in force, or under the influence of alcohol, calling for a joint commitment to make traffic safer.
