Enver Hoxhaj, chair of the education and science committee from the PDK, left the committee meeting. His departure followed the PDK parliamentary group’s decision not to participate in committees until the government submits to the Assembly a proposal to amend the law on the Specialist Chambers.

Before leaving the meeting, Hoxhaj called on his colleagues and all political entities to amend the law on the Specialist Court. He said he would not submit proposals concerning the committee’s scope of work and that the other members could continue reviewing their suggestions on the matter.
After Hoxhaj’s departure, Deputy Chair Arjeta Fejza took over the running of the meeting. She said the committee was not working under normal circumstances. According to her, political entities are discussing the issue of the law, while the ministry and the prime minister have also expressed their positions during this process.
Fejza also said that the committee has matters before it that directly affect the functioning of education. She expressed hope that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo would be consolidated as soon as possible, so that the committee and the Assembly could continue their work, particularly addressing issues that fall within the remit of the education committee.
Although Hoxhaj had left, the committee members who remained at the meeting unanimously voted to constitute the committee and approve its scope of work.
