The weekend brought a particularly high volume of traffic to the Port of Vlora, with around 8,000 passengers and 2,300 vehicles departing for Italy. The flow consisted mainly of Albanian emigrants returning to their places of work after the holidays, as well as Italian tourists.

To handle the increased demand and avoid long queues, three ferries operated on the Vlora–Brindisi route.
Border authorities increased processing capacity, putting nine counters into operation in the vehicle lane and five more inside the passenger terminal.
Thanks to the measures taken, document-checking procedures were completed without delays, and the ferries adhered to all scheduled times. Border Police remain on standby, while activity at the port is expected to return to normal starting Monday.
