According to Haxhiu, Kryeziu’s death is a grave loss not only for his loved ones but also for the Kosovo Police, which has lost an officer who dedicated his profession to serving others.
“His family has lost a loved one, while the Kosovo Police has lost a colleague and officer who chose his duty as a way to serve others,” Haxhiu wrote.
In her full statement, she said she was deeply saddened by the news of the death of police officer Altin Kryeziu, who was unable to survive the injuries he sustained after being struck by a vehicle while on duty.
Haxhiu stressed that today, the Kryeziu family has lost a loved one, while the Kosovo Police has lost a colleague and officer who chose his work as a means of serving others.
She said Altin’s death serves as a painful warning about the dangers of traffic, where even a moment of carelessness can take someone’s life and forever change the lives of many others. According to her, caution on the road and responsibility toward one another are, above all, responsibilities toward human life.
The Acting President expressed her deepest condolences to Kryeziu’s family, saying that she also shares the grief of Altin’s colleagues in the Kosovo Police, as well as everyone who knew him, worked with him and remembers him with sorrow today.
“May his memory be eternal,” Haxhiu concluded.
