Albulena Haxhiu, Speaker of the Assembly and acting President of Kosovo, has called a meeting on Friday with the leaders of the political parties that won seats in the new legislature.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11:00 and will focus on preparations for the Assembly’s constitutive session, set for August 6.
“Agenda: Preparations for the Constitutive Session of the 11th Legislature of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo,” the Kosovo Assembly’s Information Office said in its announcement.
During the constitutive session, a temporary committee is expected to be established to verify the quorum and the mandates of MPs. The agenda also includes the swearing-in of MPs and the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speakers of the Assembly.
Parliamentary procedures stipulate that the preparatory meeting be convened by the Speaker of the previous legislature. Meanwhile, the constitutive session is chaired by the oldest MP, assisted by the youngest MP.
