Justice Minister Toni Gogu, invited on the program “Të Paekspozuarit” on MCN TV, categorically rejected the protesters’ demand for Rama and the government to resign.
Gogu said the government was given its mandate after the May 11 elections and that Rama’s duty is to govern, in accordance with the will of the people.

Ylli Rakipi: The protesters’ first demand is the non-negotiable resignation of the prime minister and the government. If that does not happen, the other demands fall away. Every demand begins with the resignation of the government. Have you discussed this?
Toni Gogu: We discussed it on May 11, when the people decided. That is when it was decided who would govern Albania. The prime minister’s duty is to govern. For two months, he has been on tour listening to people. He spent two hours with the residents of Zvërnec. He called on the protesters who are there over specific issues, come and let’s talk. When he realized they were under the spell of the algorithm, then the prime minister’s duty is to govern the country.
Ylli Rakipi: So in short, you have never considered resigning.
Toni Gogu: It is not part of the rules of the game.
