Former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said that the opposition parties would help Kosovo by joining a coalition with the Vetëvendosje Movement and sharing responsibility for decision-making.

He argued that it is not in the country’s interest for the opposition to join the government without having control over one of the posts directly linked to decision-making.
Haradinaj said that if Albin Kurti views politics from a democratic perspective, he should understand the election result as a call for shared decision-making.
“Kurti is trying to humiliate the opposition by offering it only participation in government. Leaders of totalitarian regimes fear shared decision-making. The opposition should not settle merely for participation in government,” Haradinaj said.
“The question is whether Kurti interprets the result as a call for shared decision-making. If he sees it that way, then dialogue may make sense; otherwise, the meetings are pointless. I do not believe the opposition helps Kosovo by joining the government solely for the benefits of power. It can contribute only when it is part of the decision-making process. If we have a role in shared decision-making, then yes,” he stated.
According to Haradinaj, the opposition should be entrusted with one of the two main posts: the presidency or leadership of the government.
