Ramush Haradinaj, the former leader of the Alliance, has stated with conviction that the four former commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, currently on trial in The Hague, will be acquitted and return to their homeland.

Arguing his stance, Haradinaj stressed that he finds no legal basis for freedom fighters to be convicted, as according to him, the armed conflict of the KLA had a purely liberating and self-defensive character in the face of Serbian aggression.
“I have full confidence that these four individuals will be found innocent and will soon be in Kosovo. I cannot understand the logic of international law in this case. Look at the global situation, the many conflicts and collateral damages that occur. Meanwhile, Serbia has replaced individuals convicted of crimes,” Haradinaj said.
The former prime minister also sharply criticized the progress of the trial at the Specialist Chambers, noting that so far only convictions have been handed down and that almost all defense requests for temporary release or other measures have been systematically rejected.
