Hamas founder’s son sparks controversy in US with remarks: Muslims should leave America

Strong anti-Muslim remarks made by Mosab Hassan Youssef have sparked reactions and controversy in the United States. He is the son of one of Hamas’s founding figures and previously served as an informant for the Israeli security agency Shin Bet.

Youssef expressed these views during a Jewish-American summit held last weekend in Los Angeles. In his speech, he called on Muslims to leave the US.

“I don’t want Muslims in America. Get out of here, go back to the filthy holes you came from and reform your countries,” he said, as some of those in attendance applauded.

He then used even harsher rhetoric, declaring: “I don’t care at all about the Quran, your prophet or your entire faith. You disgust me.”

The event was organized by a group of Orthodox Jews and was supported by major pro-Israel organizations. Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter and US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee also delivered speeches during the summit.

Mosab Hassan Youssef is the eldest son of Sheikh Hassan Youssef, one of the founders of Hamas. He spent his youth in the West Bank and was recruited by Shin Bet at an early age.

According to the account he has made public, his cooperation with the Israeli security service lasted about 10 years, from 1997 to 2007. During this period, Youssef provided important information.

He later moved to the United States, converted to Christianity and was publicly disowned by his family.

The story of Youssef’s cooperation with Shin Bet gained widespread attention through the documentary “The Green Prince,” released in 2014. It portrayed his life, along with the relationship he had developed with Gonen Ben Yitzhak, a former Shin Bet officer.

Youssef is currently known as one of the fiercest critics of Hamas and Islam. He regularly takes part in public and political forums in the US and Israel.
