Albanian national Alket Rizai remains missing and has not returned to Domokos Prison in Greece after being granted leave that expired on Monday morning.

The convicted man was involved in a shooting incident near a beach bar in Anavyssos in the early hours of Sunday. Authorities are trying to locate Rizai, but their searches have so far yielded no results.
At the same time, as the days pass, the possibility that he may have traveled to Albania is gaining traction. Information received by the Hellenic Police indicates that Rizai was last traced to northern Greece, from where he may have crossed illegally into Albania.
During the incident outside the beach bar in the early hours of Sunday, Alket Rizai fired a gun into the air. The case filed against him includes, among other charges, the criminal offenses of aggravated possession of a weapon and use of a weapon.
Over the past five years, he had been granted 16 prison leaves.
