Data published by the authorities show that annual inflation in North Macedonia stood at 2.6% in August 2026, marking a significant decline compared with the same month in 2022, when it was 16.8%.

The country’s government considers this decline evidence that price pressures are easing. According to the government, North Macedonia’s inflation rate was lower than the estimate for the eurozone, where a rate of 3.3% was recorded in August. A month earlier, inflation stood at 2.3% in the country and 2.9% in the eurozone.
Data published by Eurostat so far show that in August, only Finland, at 2.4%, Malta, at 1.9%, and Estonia, at 1.3%, had lower rates than North Macedonia.
Meanwhile, industrial production rose by 1.3% in July compared with the same month last year, while growth reached 0.9% during the first seven months of the year.
According to the government, these indicators demonstrate that inflation is stabilizing and economic activity is improving. The government emphasizes that its economic policies aim to maintain price stability, increase wages and pensions, and encourage investment and economic development.
