The Court of Appeals has upheld the first-instance decision, approving the continuation of one-month detention for Gani Geci, who is suspected of threatening journalist Lirim Mehmetaj.
Earlier, the Basic Court in Pristina had ordered Geci to be held in detention for a 30-day period.

According to the Prosecution’s charges, the incident began after a post that Mehmetaj had published on Facebook regarding MP Fatos Geci.
The prosecution’s claims indicate that Gani Geci had addressed the journalist with threats, pressuring him to delete or modify his post.
The documentation submitted for the detention decision also includes the words Geci is suspected of having said to Mehmetaj inside the newsroom where the latter practices his profession.
The case continues to be investigated by judicial authorities.
