A memorial gathering is being held in honor of activist Flora Brovina at the Red Hall of the Palace of Youth in Pristina. She passed away on September 15.

Writer and researcher Shyqri Galica, who was closely familiar with Brovina’s commitment and activities, spoke during the ceremony.
Galica said that Brovina never ceased her activities, even when she was imprisoned by Serbian forces during the Kosovo War.
According to him, Flora Brovina was a KLA fighter who continued to contribute from the time she carried a weapon at her waist until she was held in Serbian prisons. He said she helped her comrades with weapons, uniforms, medicine, services and medical equipment, while describing her courage as an important force of that time.
Shyqri Galica also described Brovina as an activist, humanitarian and noble patriot, emphasizing that she was constantly at the forefront of dealing with difficult situations and spared nothing for the freedom of her homeland. He added that, having often been by her side together with other male and female comrades, he knew her work firsthand, and that the pain of her loss was accompanied by pride that they had had such a mother and sister among them.
Flora Brovina will be buried today in Arbëria, Pristina.
