During his stay in Michigan, Prime Minister Edi Rama commented on the decision by the Specialist Chambers in The Hague concerning Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.

He stated that Albania would continue to support Kosovo, but stressed that its institutions must determine how to respond to the decision.
“Albania can do nothing more than stand by Kosovo, but they must decide that we should do everything to overturn that decision against those four men,” Rama said, according to Albanian media.
In his speech to Albanians in Michigan, the head of the Albanian government also announced the opening of an Albanian consulate in the state.
“Albania must be there for you whenever you need it. Albania now has a door you can turn to when you need consular services,” the Albanian prime minister said.
Rama is in Michigan as part of his visit to the United States, where he has held meetings with the Albanian community.
