Former Constitutional Court Judge Explains Deadlines and Possibility of Postponing the Constitutive Session

Former Constitutional Court Judge Kadri Kryeziu has stated that Kosovo’s president must convene the first constitutive session of the Assembly within 30 days of the certification of the results, but this does not mean that the institution must necessarily be formed during that session.

During the “Speciale” program on Klan Kosova, Kryeziu explained that the session may also be convened before the end of this deadline, while after it is called, the sessions may be postponed. According to him, the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure stipulate that meetings must be held every 48 hours until the Assembly’s structures or leadership are elected.

He assessed that, although the session was convened within the 30-day period, it was delayed and, in his opinion, should have been held earlier.

Kryeziu added that it would be more beneficial for the Assembly to be constituted today or tomorrow, together with all its mechanisms.
