According to the Ministry of Interior, the operation is taking place simultaneously in 34 European countries. The initiative aims to reduce the risks caused by distraction and contribute to increased safety for everyone traveling on the roads.
The Ministry of Interior emphasizes that sending messages, making phone calls, viewing notifications or using social media while driving takes the driver’s attention away from the road. According to the institution, just a few seconds of carelessness are enough for a hazard to go unnoticed in time and for the reaction to be delayed.
The Ministry of Interior calls on all road users to act responsibly and remain fully focused throughout their journey. “Do not allow a glance at a screen to become the cause of a road tragedy. Drive carefully, pay attention to the road and leave your phone for later,” the Ministry of Interior appeals.
