Fire situation across the country/ 21 fires reported over the past 24 hours! Areas where the situation is most problematic

The Ministry of Defense has announced that 21 fires were reported across the country over the past 24 hours. Six of them remain active, while seven others are under surveillance.

A total of 354 operational personnel and 24 firefighting vehicles have been deployed to manage the situation. The operations also involve 155 members of the Armed Forces, 3 firefighting vehicles, one heavy excavator, 3 helicopters and 2 “Air Tractor” aircraft.

Dajti Mountain – the operation is continuing with the support of 30 Armed Forces personnel. During the previous day, 25 Fire and Rescue Service personnel, 5 Regional Protected Areas Administration employees, 30 Armed Forces personnel and aerial resources were deployed. There is no risk to residential areas.

Qafë e Helmes, Bulqizë – the fire reignited today at two locations in a dense pine forest. Eleven Fire and Rescue Service personnel have been deployed to bring the situation under control.

Shtuf, Mirditë – the fire remains active, but at low intensity, and is being monitored by local authorities.

Shtanë–Tenë, Mirditë – the situation is stable. Work is continuing today with 6 Fire and Rescue Service personnel, 6 forestry service employees and 15 municipal personnel. There is no risk to homes.

Prozhem, Pukë – the fire remains active in a forested area. The operation is continuing with local structures and 30 Armed Forces personnel. There is currently no risk to homes. Meanwhile, the situation in Gjegjan, Gojan i Vogël and Gojan i Madh has been isolated or extinguished and is being kept under surveillance.

Çika Mountain, above Palasë – the fire continues in steep and inaccessible terrain, while today the operation to fully extinguish it is being supported by 2 Air Tractor aircraft. Despite the difficult terrain and the impact of the wind in some areas, the situation at several of the main fire sites has improved, while operations are continuing with a focus on isolating active fires, preventing reignitions and protecting residential areas.

“The National Civil Protection Agency continues to monitor the situation uninterruptedly across the country, in close coordination with the prefectures, municipalities and all structures of the Civil Protection system. Operational capacities remain deployed in the field and on standby to intervene wherever the situation requires, with priority given to protecting the lives, homes and property of citizens,” the statement said.
