Fire situation across the country/ 39 outbreaks recorded in 24 hours, 11 still active, risk to residential areas averted in Himara

Over the past 24 hours, 39 wildfire outbreaks have been reported across the country, 11 of which remain active, 3 are under surveillance and 25 have been extinguished. According to reports, the active fires are in Tirana, Dibër, Lezhë, Shkodër, Durrës, Fier and Vlora.

In Fier and Himara, where the situation has been more serious, the risk to residential areas has been averted and operations are continuing.

In Himara, in the “1 Maji” neighborhood, 36 people were evacuated, while the fire affected 6 homes, 3 of which were inhabited.

A total of 881 operational personnel, 75 firefighting vehicles and 340 Armed Forces personnel have been deployed on the ground, supported by Air Force helicopters and an Air Tractor aircraft.

Today, 380 military personnel, two helicopters and one Air Tractor aircraft are expected to be deployed.
