The Ministry of Defence has updated the fire situation across the country as of 14:00 this Sunday, 23 August. A total of 15 fire outbreaks were reported during the day, seven of which remain active, while the other eight are under surveillance.

The most problematic situation is in Krastë, Krujë, where the fire continues to burn intensely near residential areas. Several firefighting units are taking part in the operation, while efforts to extinguish the blaze are also being carried out from the air by helicopter.
Meanwhile, on Mount Dajti, the operation continues with firefighting crews and a helicopter, while it has been reported that there is no danger to residential areas.
The situation has stabilised in Tenë, Mirditë, and has improved significantly in Gojan-Gjegjan, Pukë, where the fire outbreaks have been contained or extinguished and are being monitored.
Operations and monitoring are also continuing in Bulqizë, Prozhem in Pukë, Shtuf, and on Mount Çika above Palasë, where two Air Tractor aircraft are supporting efforts to fully extinguish the fire.
A total of 213 personnel have been deployed in the operations, including 153 operational staff and 60 members of the Armed Forces, as well as 10 fire engines and a heavy excavator. Two helicopters and two Air Tractor aircraft are being used in the aerial response.
