SDSM is ready to face elections even if they are called tomorrow, but it will not accept being used as an alibi for Hristijan Mickoski’s political calculations. This was stated by the party’s leader, Venko Filipche.

At today’s press conference, Filipche said the prime minister does not need SDSM’s support to call early elections, as he has a two-thirds majority in Parliament and absolute power.
“We will not be an alibi for early elections for Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski. It is clear that the only factor prompting him to seek elections is that there is no longer any money in the budget for his criminal tenders. Now it is no longer so easy to borrow money, because his mentor Orban is no longer in power, and there is no opportunity to obtain Chinese money,” Filipche declared.
According to him, SDSM has the team, the program and the master plan for Macedonia, while he will present the agreement with citizens during September. “Let them take place tomorrow—we are ready for elections tomorrow,” Filipche said.
He announced that SDSM’s platform would be structured around six clear and concrete points, so that citizens would understand what they are voting for, regardless of when the next elections are held.
“Six points, clearly and properly defined, so that citizens know what they will be voting for whenever the next elections are held. All the most important aspects concerning the country’s future, the strengthening of the system and the welfare of citizens in this welfare state, which is now being pushed aside, will be written and explained clearly,” the SDSM leader emphasized.
Filipche reiterated that his party would not become involved in what he described as Mickoski’s game. “We are ready for elections whenever they are held. But we will not be an alibi. Hristijan Mickoski has a two-thirds majority in Parliament and absolute power. He can call elections whenever he wants. Why does SDSM matter to him now? Why does he matter to us? We are not entering that game. That man will call elections when there is no more money, and the money is running out more and more,” Filipche emphasized.
