The European Commission has preliminarily found that Chinese e-commerce platform Temu failed to fulfil its obligation to cooperate actively in several aspects of an unannounced inspection at its European headquarters in Dublin.

The inspection was conducted from December 2 to 5 as part of an investigation to assess whether the company has benefited from foreign subsidies that could undermine competition in the European Union market.
The Commission has not yet released details about the specific actions Temu allegedly failed to take during the inspection. The assessment published so far remains preliminary and does not constitute a final decision against the company.
Temu, which is owned by Chinese group PDD Holdings, has expanded rapidly in the European market by offering low-priced products.
