The presence of the EULEX mission in Kosovo has increased near border crossings with Serbia.
This increase comes as many members of the Serb community are traveling to Serbia to vote in the elections there.

In a media statement, the mission said it was monitoring the situation on the ground.
According to the statement, since the early hours of election day in Serbia, EULEX has increased patrols by its Specialized Police Unit near the main joint crossing points between Kosovo and Serbia. The patrols are monitoring the situation in coordination with the Kosovo Police and the NATO-led KFOR mission, as part of the three-tier security response mechanism.
