Erion Veliaj appoints two new deputy mayors of Tirana, Sara Goxhaj returns to city hall

Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj has decided to appoint Sara Goxhaj and former Socialist Party MP Sadi Vorpsi as deputy mayors.

The appointment marks Goxhaj’s return to the administration of the Municipality of Tirana, where she has worked before. In the past, she also served as acting mayor after Anuela Ristani left the post.

After a break from politics, Sadi Vorpsi is returning to public administration. He served as Tirana’s prefect from 2013 to 2017, before serving as a Socialist Party MP.

Following these changes, the Municipality of Tirana’s leadership includes four deputy mayors: Sara Goxhaj, Sadi Vorpsi, Vasilika Vjero and Ilir Mëngra.
