Despite ongoing pressure, which has intensified in recent days, the residents of Divjakë continue to protest.

“Thirty days of resistance demonstrate the will of Divjakë’s citizens not to back down and to say no to the government’s unacceptable decision. It would be shameful for us to allow the merger with Lushnjë,” one of the protesters said.

Meanwhile, the number of participants in the protest has declined. A protester with disabilities, who has taken part in the resistance since the first day, said that she and other protesters had been pressured not to participate, otherwise their KEMPI would be taken away.

The 30th day of protests ended with a march through the city’s streets. During the march, the protesters also called for the immediate resignation of Mayor Josif Gorrea. According to them, he has not appeared in the square since the first day of the protest and is exerting pressure to prevent residents from participating.
