Uljan Shpataraku, a former State Police officer who was known as a trusted associate of Ilir Proda during the period when the latter headed the institution, has taken the matter to court following his dismissal.

He was dismissed in May 2026 through a decision signed by the Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita.
The institution justified Shpataraku’s dismissal from the police force by claiming that he had failed to report for work.
Published information shows that, during this time, Shpataraku was pursuing a master’s degree at the Security Academy.
In the lawsuit he filed, the former officer is asking the court to review the legality of the dismissal decision and reinstate him to his post.
