The gathering began at 19:00 in Skanderbeg Square. From there, participants headed towards the Prime Minister’s Office, where speeches were delivered and the prime minister’s removal was once again demanded.
After the speeches ended, the crowd continued marching through the streets of the capital. During the march, slogans were chanted such as “Down with the patronage officials”, “Edi Rama, resign”, “Illiterate parliament” and “Albania demands a revolution”.
There were also calls at the protest for the arrest of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, alongside other political slogans.
Organisers and participants said that the gatherings would continue in the coming days. They stressed that the mobilisation would not stop until the demands put forward were met.
