Crisis Management Centre Report on Fires: One Still Active, Six Extinguished in 24 Hours

According to data from the Crisis Management Centre, nine fires in open areas were recorded over the past 24 hours. Of these, one remains active, two have been brought under control, and six others have been fully extinguished.

The flames that engulfed the slopes of Mount Ograzhden have now been brought under control, the CMC said.

“Since yesterday, teams from the local fire brigade in Strumica have remained on the ground, assisted by volunteers from the ‘Ris’ company and two Air Tractor aircraft from the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, to tackle the fire,” the Centre said.
