The Crisis Management Center (CMC) announced that 31 fires in open areas were recorded in North Macedonia between August 28 and 07:30 on August 29.

The situation report shows that 25 fires have been extinguished, five remain active, while one fire has been brought under control.
The most serious situation is in the territories of the municipalities of Studeniçan and Zelenikovo. There, flames have engulfed mixed forest in the Moranë–Vërtekicë–Ramni Gaber area, with one branch extending toward Paligrad and in the direction of Presllap.
Another active fire is located near Kopanicë, in the Municipality of Saraj, from where it is moving toward Radushë, burning low vegetation and forested areas.
Active fires have also been reported above the village of Nezhilovë, in the Municipality of Çashkë; near Kopancë, in the Municipality of Jegunovcë; and in the area of the village of Cërnilishtë, in the Municipality of Prilep.
The fire that started near Tërnovë, in the Municipality of Gostivar, has been brought under control. It had spread toward Bitovë, Zagrad and Strajanë, in the territory of the Municipality of Makedonski Brod.
Over the past 24 hours, teams have extinguished fires in several municipalities, including Strumicë, Ohrid, Prilep, Shtip, Tetovë, Gostivar, Dellçevë and Berovë.
The CMC continues to monitor the situation on the ground and urges citizens to exercise particular caution, as the risk of fires starting and spreading in open areas remains.
