A criminal complaint has been filed by the Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations and Professional Standards within the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the competent Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for the prosecution of organized crime and corruption – the Specialized Department for the prosecution of criminal offenses committed by persons with police powers and by members of the prison police, against Z.R., a police officer at the Police Station for Border Surveillance in Chashka.
According to the announcement, he is reasonably suspected of having committed the criminal offense of “causing general danger,” as provided for in Article 288, paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.

As stated, on 22.05.2026, the reported police officer fired several shots with a firearm in the yard of his family home during a family celebration and in the presence of a large number of guests, thereby endangering the lives and physical safety of the people present there.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs says that a proposal will also be submitted against Z.R. to initiate proceedings to determine responsibility for violations of workplace order and discipline, while mandatory disciplinary measures will also be imposed, as well as the measure of temporary removal from the workplace until the conclusion of the disciplinary procedure – suspension from duty.
