September 10, 11 and 14, 2026, have been set for the presentation of closing statements in the case concerning the administration of justice, in which Hashim Thaçi, Bashkim Smakaj, Isni Kilaj, Fadil Fazliu and Hajredin Kuçi are accused.

The indictment alleges that, between July 2, 2023, and November 2, 2023, Hashim Thaçi distributed confidential information about Prosecution witnesses to Bashkim Smakaj, Isni Kilaj and Fadil Fazliu. According to the indictment, this occurred during various non-privileged visits to the detention facility.
The indictment also alleges that Thaçi, together with Smakaj, Kilaj, Fazliu and other individuals who have not been indicted, attempted to influence the testimony of several witnesses.
The indictment further states that “Mr. Thaçi made an agreement with Mr. Kuçi for the latter to contact Prosecution witnesses in the war crimes trial of Thaçi and others, in violation of the order prohibiting them from doing so outside the specified conditions. Mr. Kuçi is also alleged to have contacted another Prosecution witness on his own initiative.”
Hashim Thaçi faces three counts of criminal offenses against public order, specifically attempting to obstruct public officials in the performance of their official duties. He also faces eight charges of offenses against the administration of justice and public administration, relating to violations of the confidentiality of proceedings and disobedience of the court.
Bashkim Smakaj, Isni Kilaj and Fadil Fazliu are each accused of one criminal offense against public order, for attempting to obstruct public officials in the performance of their official duties, as well as one offense against the administration of justice and public administration, for disobedience of the court.
Meanwhile, Hajredin Kuçi faces two charges of criminal offenses against the administration of justice and public administration, relating to disobedience of the court.
