On Thursday, July 09, 2026, Tirana International Airport (TIA) welcomed the inaugural Chair Airlines flight, marking the start of the airline’s operations at Tirana International Airport.
The new direct route between Zurich and Tirana will operate three days a week, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, offering more travel options for passengers traveling between Albania and Switzerland.

To mark the occasion, the first flight was welcomed at TIA with a traditional and symbolic ceremony celebrating the start of this partnership.
Chair Airlines is a Swiss leisure airline based in Zurich, operating a modern fleet of Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft.
With the addition of Tirana to its network, the company is expanding its presence in the Balkans and offering passengers another direct flight option between Switzerland and Albania.
“This new route represents another important step in expanding Albania’s air links with Europe and reflects the growing demand for travel between Tirana and Zurich.
