During its stay in the United States, the delegation closely followed the organization of the primary elections in Tampa, Florida. In Omaha, it also visited the headquarters of ES&S, the largest American company specializing in election technology, where it learned about the equipment and technological solutions used in election administration.
In Washington, D.C., CEC representatives were received at the U.S. Department of State by Amy Carnie, Director of the Office of Central and Western Europe, as well as by representatives of the Office for Kosovo.
Another meeting was held with a senior official from the Office of Eastern Europe and Eurasia at the U.S. Department of Commerce. The discussions focused on opportunities for cooperation and support in advancing election administration in Kosovo through the use of technology.
The delegation also met with the District of Columbia Board of Elections, with which it exchanged views on election administration practices and opportunities for institutional cooperation.
According to the CEC, “The visit aims to exchange experiences, strengthen institutional cooperation and further advance election administration in Kosovo through the use of technology.”
