Bytyçi: The 78 days of protests against Rama carry the symbolism of NATO’s campaign against the Serbian genocide in Kosovo

University professor Enver Bytyçi, speaking to “Bota sot,” has once again criticized Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama.

According to him, the mobilization has reached 78 days, while citizens and the diaspora are returning to the protests with the demand that Rama step down.

Bytyçi links this 78-day period to the 78 days during which NATO bombed Milosević’s military and police apparatus in Kosovo.

He says this coincidence carries an interesting symbolism, as NATO protected Albanians from the Serbian genocide and their physical extermination by Slobodan Milosević, whom he describes as a bloodthirsty and cruel man, as well as from his loyal aides, Aleksandar Vučić and Ivica Dačić.

The professor further states that the 78-day protests by citizens in Tirana are also being held against what he calls the policies of Edi Rama’s government aimed at the physical extermination of Albanians.

In his view, the two cases are linked not only by the symbolism of 78 days, but also by the same motive: the protection of Albania and the Albanian cause.

In conclusion, Bytyçi calls for the protest and revolution to continue until victory, warning that otherwise it will have to be said: “Once upon a time, there was Albania in the Balkans.”
