Bogojeski opposes Shasivari’s proposal to hold the bar exam in Albanian

Petar Bogojeski has spoken out against the initiative of Justice Minister Jeton Shasivari to organize the bar exam in Albanian as well.

In a post published in Macedonian, the Macedonian nationalist claims that, within ten years, Albanian judges could try Macedonian citizens through interpreters because, according to him, they would not master the Macedonian language.

“In a short period of time (10 years), we will have an ethnic Albanian judge trying two ethnic Macedonians through an interpreter because he will not know the Macedonian language. Or a prosecutor…”, Bogojeski writes.

He considers this an unsustainable situation and warns that the use of Albanian in the justice system could push North Macedonia toward cantonization or federalization.

According to him, ethnic division would not be limited to the judicial system but could also extend to education, healthcare and the administration.

Bogojeski opposes establishing Albanian as a parallel institutional language, while calling on Albanians in North Macedonia to learn and use the Macedonian language.

“Albanians must understand that in Macedonia they must learn and know the Macedonian language. Albanian is theirs, unquestionably, but it cannot be a parallel systemic language,” he says.

At the conclusion of his reaction, he mocks the possibility of using interpreters for the country’s languages and ends the post with the expression “Poor Macedonia”.
