Berisha: No injured officer appears in the emergency departments of Tirana hospitals

Democratic Party chairman Sali Berisha said on social media that the Interior Ministry had misinformed the public, because according to him, no injured police officers have been recorded in the emergency departments of Tirana hospitals.

He described this as a serious deception, which he said was used to justify brutal violence, gas, bear spray, toxic substances and blows to the head against protesters.

In his reaction, Berisha states: “Public deception by the Interior Ministry!”

Berisha says that the Interior Ministry, in what he calls a slanderous public deception, has tried to justify harsh violence, toxic substances, tear gas, bear spray, water cannons, kicks to the head, animal-like dragging and torture in police vehicles against peaceful protesters, by informing the public through statements about many injured police officers, but without making any names public and without giving any details about the nature of the injuries.

According to him, after checks carried out by the relevant Democratic Party department at the emergency units of medical institutions, it turns out that since midday several police officers were taken there to simulate injuries, but they had no damage, not even significant injuries, and left in the same condition, without having any health concerns.

He adds that in the video distributed above by the police, as part of what he calls a low public deception, Inspector Gjoka is shown as injured, while 20 minutes later he returns again to brutal actions against protesters.

In conclusion, Berisha strongly condemns, as he says, these serious acts of public deception by the narco-police, considering them a serious criminal offense, as well as the inhuman violence used against peaceful protesters.
