Berisha Hails Agreement on the Election of Bekim Sejdiu as President of Kosovo

Sali Berisha, chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania, conveyed his congratulations to Bekim Sejdiu following the agreement on his election as President of Kosovo.

Berisha also congratulated the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo and chairman of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, as well as the chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, on the agreement reached. According to him, this agreement is in the best interests of the Republic of Kosovo and its citizens.

In his message, the DP leader described Bekim Sejdiu as a prominent figure in Kosovo, with experience in constitutional jurisprudence and diplomacy. Sejdiu is a former member of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo and a former ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to important countries.

“Mr. Bekim Sejdiu, President of Kosovo,” Berisha wrote at the beginning of his post.

“The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo and chairman of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Mr. Albin Kurti, and Mr. Lumir Abdixhiku, chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, signed the agreement to elect Mr. Bekim Sejdiu as President of the Republic of Kosovo, a prominent figure in Kosovo in the field of constitutional jurisprudence, a former member of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, as well as in the field of diplomacy, a former ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to important countries,” his post stated.

Berisha said that, on behalf of the Democratic Party of Albania, he was sending Sejdiu his warmest congratulations on assuming the high office. He wished him success and prosperity in this role, in achieving Kosovo’s integration into the EU and NATO, as well as in strengthening its contribution to peace, stability and regional cooperation.

“On this occasion, I also warmly congratulate Prime Minister Kurti, who is also chairman of the Vetëvendosje Movement, and the chairman of the LDK, Mr. Abdixhiku, on the agreement reached and their dignified choice in the best interests of the Republic of Kosovo and its citizens,” Berisha concluded.
