Anton Quni Welcomes LDK-LVV Agreement to Nominate Bekim Sejdiu for President

Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP Anton Quni has welcomed the agreement between the LDK and the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), under which Prof. Dr. Bekim Sejdiu has been proposed as a candidate for President of the Republic of Kosovo.

According to Quni, this agreement is evidence of political maturity and responsibility toward citizens, as the interests of the state have been placed above disagreements between the parties.

“With great satisfaction and hope for the country’s institutional stability, I welcome the agreement reached between the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Vetëvendosje Movement for Prof. Dr. Bekim Sejdiu to be proposed as President of the Republic of Kosovo,” Quni wrote.

The LDK MP also spoke about the history of the Sejdiu family, underscoring its contribution to the peaceful and political resistance led by former President Ibrahim Rugova, as well as to the Kosovo Liberation Army’s war.

Quni said that he knows Kosovo’s hero, Arben Sejdiu, personally, having fought alongside him.

“Knowing my fellow fighter, Kosovo’s Hero Arben Sejdiu, personally, I have had the honor of witnessing firsthand the Sejdiu family’s deep patriotic spirit, sacrifice and tireless commitment to Kosovo’s freedom, independence and democracy,” he said.

He assessed that Bekim Sejdiu’s diplomatic, professional and legal background, together with his experience as a former Constitutional Court judge and diplomat, position him as a suitable candidate to represent the unity of citizens and ensure respect for the Constitution.

Quni also highlighted Sejdiu’s expertise in international law and diplomacy, which, according to him, is an important asset for representing Kosovo on the international stage.

In conclusion, Quni wished Sejdiu success in the election process, expressing his belief that, if elected president, he would lead the country with wisdom, impartiality and dedication to the Republic of Kosovo and its citizens.
