Berisha Cites Tomáš Zdechovský’s Accusation Against Rama: He Uses Family Members to Send Money Abroad, While Remaining Silent for 24 Hours

During a statement at Democratic Party headquarters, party leader Sali Berisha drew attention once again to a statement by MEP Tomáš Zdechovský, according to which Prime Minister Edi Rama uses members of his family to move dirty money out of Albania.

Berisha said Rama has not responded to this serious accusation and has also attempted to have the story censored.

Berisha also said that a day earlier, on one of Tirana’s media outlets, the member of the European Parliament had denounced Edi Rama as someone who uses family members to transport money abroad.

According to him, Zdechovský said that Rama’s money and his dealings involving funds stolen from Albanians or money belonging to Albanian traffickers are being tracked.

The Democratic Party leader described this as the most serious accusation made personally against Edi Rama and his family members by a prominent European Union figure.

He added that such a statement had only been made in the European Parliament about Gaddafi and not about any leader of free member states, describing the case as unprecedented and indicative of the principle of mafia capture.

Berisha stressed that although 24 hours have passed since the statement given to journalist Qarri, the prime minister has not spoken and has “remained as silent as a blade of grass.”

According to him, Rama and media outlets close to him are censoring the public accusations of a well-known MEP, who openly claims that the head of government uses his family to send money abroad. He added that such a story would make headlines across all major media outlets, while the 24 hours of silence, according to Berisha, bring shame on every media company.
