Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has leveled strong criticism at Prime Minister Edi Rama and Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, accusing them of being the “biggest thieves” in the country.

Responding to questions from followers during a live broadcast on social media, the opposition leader said the majority was using its votes in Parliament to protect criminal and corrupt activities.
According to Berisha, the Rama government is not only robbing Albanians but also placing itself above the law. He said its 83 parliamentary seats had been used to protect major criminal affairs and that an executive that protects crime no longer has the legitimacy to govern.
“This government, unlike any other government in Europe or the world, has proven that it not only robs Albanians, but that its thieves, Rama and Balluku, are above every law in this country. That is why they used the 83 seats of crime to protect major criminal affairs. A government that protects crime loses its legitimacy. It represents crime and deserves to be removed from power as soon as possible,” Sali Berisha said.
Another issue he addressed was the new territorial reform draft, through which the Socialist Party is proposing the dissolution of 15 municipalities.
Berisha said that, in his view, the plan aims to depopulate the country and replace Albanian residents with citizens from Asian countries. He added that the proposal had sparked strong reactions from residents of the municipalities affected by the changes.
“This has prompted a powerful reaction from residents of the municipalities facing elimination. Through this sultan-like centralization, Edi Rama wants to hold all power in the palm of his hand. He wants to continue driving Albanians out and filling Albania with citizens brought in from Asia,” Berisha said.
