Beijing has rejected statements by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding China’s alleged interference in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, calling them “pure fabrications.”
In a televised speech, Trump repeated accusations that China had influenced the electoral process. He claimed that Beijing carried out “the largest election data hack in history,” illegally obtaining 220 million records of American voters and attempting to manipulate the election in favor of his then-opponent, Joe Biden.

These claims were rejected by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian during a press conference.
“The accusations made by the U.S. side are nothing more than pure fabrications and malicious slander, which have long been proven unfounded,” he said.
Lin Jian stated that China has had no interest in and has never interfered in elections in the United States.
“On the contrary, the international community can clearly see who usually interferes in the internal affairs of other countries,” the Chinese spokesperson added.
He also called on U.S. authorities to abandon what he described as baseless accusations against Beijing and to work toward improving relations between the two countries.
Trump has repeatedly claimed that Joe Biden “stole” the 2020 presidential election from him. However, these claims have not been supported by evidence. Dozens of lawsuits filed after the election were dismissed by the courts, while officials from his own administration have also said that no evidence was found of election fraud that would have changed the outcome.
The U.S. president also announced that he would declassify documents which he says support his allegations of interference in the 2020 election.
