Thimjo Rubati was the target of a shooting attack that took place in the evening in Sarandë’s District No. 4.
Preliminary information indicates that he was shot at by two masked individuals travelling on a motorcycle. After the gunfire, the perpetrators quickly fled the scene.

Rubati is known to authorities as a person with numerous criminal records. He has been listed for offences related to migrant smuggling, contraband, illegal possession of weapons and vehicle trafficking.
The attack was recorded just a few metres from the spot where police officer Mihal Velço was assaulted the previous night. Thimjo Rubati’s son and two of his friends, all three of whom have criminal records, are suspected of involvement in that incident.
Police forces have secured the area and launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators of the attack and clarify the circumstances. Authorities are also checking whether the two incidents, which occurred within hours of each other in the same area, are connected.
